Common questions
Before you write
Can I use these translations with my patients?
Yes — they are written for clinical use. They are a communication aid, not a
replacement for a certified medical interpreter, and clinical judgement always applies.
Why does everything say "bạn"?
Vietnamese second-person pronouns depend on the patient's age and your relationship with
them. "Bạn" is a neutral placeholder — swap it for the right pronoun using the Pronouns
section of the translation library.
Who records the audio?
Marie records the pronunciations herself, so what you hear is a native-speaker clinician
saying the phrase exactly as a patient would hear it in clinic.
A phrase is missing or looks wrong — what should I do?
Please email it over. Corrections and suggestions from clinicians are the fastest way
this library improves.
